Ohhhh swelll, now I really am confused. my cousin has done a great deal of research into my fathers' side of the family and am beginning to doubt her research. She shows Ulrich Shallenberger coming to the US on 09/30/1727 on the MOLLEY out of Rotterdam and Deal. He was born in Switzerland in 1694(?). She then shows a son of Ulrich's - John b.1727(?)in Altdorf,Switzerland. She attributes 3 children to John - Abraham, Isaac, & Christian. From Isaac b. 1766(? born and married in Lancaster but he and Martha moved to Clark Co., MO in 1848 and the 1850 Clark Co. census lists Isaac as being age 46 and having 10 children ages 3 - 19 years ) and Martha Strickler(not sure of birth order): ISAAC b.19Aug. 1803 in Fayette Co., PA married Elizabeth Booth; JOSEPH b.? - died unmarried at age 20; JACOB b. 16March 1796, married to MARIE (? MARIA) WEAVER on d. 28April 1852 in Canton(?),Clark Co.,MO; BARBARA b.? married to JOSEPH HERBERT and died in Connellsville,PA; EMILY b.?, married to ? COLLINS and d.? in OHIO; MARTHA b.? married JOHN V. REESE and d.? in Connellsville, PA; ELIZA b.?, married JOHN V. REESE and d.? in Mt. Pleasant, PA. (other children not listed on my sheets) Since Jacob is my line I have info on him(to follow) but none of the other children(would love to have it). JACOB married MARIE(MARIA?) WEAVER (b. 10Feb. 1805 in PA, d. 29May 1855 in Clark Co. MO she was the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Weaver) on 30 March 1825 in Lancaster Co., PA. JACOB and MARIE(?A) had at least 11 children all apparently born in Clark Co.,MO : MARY WEAVER SHALLENBERGER b. 28 Feb 1826 died unmarried(?) 5Aug,1845; MARTHA SHALLENBERG b. 7July, 1827, married Miller Duer on 3Dec.,1846 and d. 23Feb,1899; SARA b. 13June,1829, d. 28 Jan.,1830(7 Mos); CAROLINE b. 7Nov.,1830, married Wm. From HARRIET ELIZABETH SHALLENBERGER(SHELLENBERGER) and GEORGE MARTIN SWARTZ, I show 8 CHILDREN born between 7Feb 1857 and 1877. How do I find out just where this research veers from the truth or if it even does? Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated, because now I don't know if I really know what I think I know.Thanks,Jayme
