This Isaac is not the grandson to John and Barbara (Coble) Schellenberger, who was son of Ulrich. ,a common misunderstanding. Another researcher explained it to me like this."Isaac-John-Jacob-George is the correct line, at least according to Martin Shallenberger's book, which appears pretty well researched. It is easy to be confused. George and Ulrich immigrated to the U.S. together on the same ship in 1727. The relationship between the two is not known. They both settled in Lancaster County, not far from one another. Shallenbergers from both lines settled in Fayette County at about the same time, around 1790. To further complicate matters, Isaac Shallenberger (son of John, great grandson of George) married Susan Shallenberger (daughter of a different John, and great granddaughter (I believe) of Ulrich)."The John and Barbara (Coble) family is on the Ulrich page of the genealogies of this site.
